Well, all I can say is, it’s about time!

I was bullied mercilessly throughout school, and so was one of my daughters. The problem with the “no tolerance” policy, is that no self-defense is permitted. They always caught my daughter defending herself, and the antagonists got away with nothing while my daughter was suspended from school twice. No one bothered to get the story, they just saw her and blamed her. The no tolerance policy is good in theory, but only works if someone takes the time to find out where the responsibility for the altercation actually lies.

Kids are very manipulative, and learn quickly how to work the system so the kids that are bullied, get a double dose. First from the antagonists, and second, from the system. Maybe this awareness campaign will help some of the “powers that be” to recognize that violence against kids who are different goes on under the radar, probably more than above it.

Teachers need to open their eyes to the undercurrents around them. Not all bullying is obvious. Much of it is insidious, and all of it can cause lifelong trauma.

Thank you for supporting this important attitude shift.

  3. Congratulations Christy on this campaign. I’m sure you may be surprised at the amount of influence this had on society considering you were in politics. Perhaps it’s your background that helped this become such a success. I envy your position and being able to have such a wide spread positive influence on our society. Cheers!

I am confused as to why Metrotown is advertising it as February 28th?????

  5. We all have the right to be free from bullying.
When the government makes laws against some drugs they are bullying the people who want to use those drugs.

When they do it to protect the profit they make on sales of alcohol, then it’s a conflict of interest bullying.

When they do it to protect tobaco, big pharma and other corporate interests, then it is criminal bullying.

Our police have become bully’s, and enforcers of “legal” drug “gangs” turf.

Drugs are not prohibited to protect citizens from danger.
We are all in danger and being bullied because of prohibition.
